PE is on a Friday so please ensure children have a full PE kit on these days.
Class Timetable
Homework
Reading books should be in every day so that records can be checked, updated and books changed whenever needed.
Homework is sent out each Friday and is expected back in and completed the following Thursday. In addition to this children have access to TTRS to improve their times table knowledge and recall speed.
English
This half term we are reading Children of the Benin Kingdom by Dinah Orji. This is a book that deals with themes around family, loss, violence and war.

Maths
The children will be working on Place Value and Addition and Subtraction while also continuing to work on arithmetic skills and test technique ready for their year group.
It is crucial that children still continue to learn their times tables to improve recall speed and accuracy.

Living Things including humans:
- When is friction helpful and when is it not?

- How do pulleys and gears help us?
RE learning challenges:
What does it mean if Christians believe God is holy and loving?
- What words do we connect with the idea of ‘God’? What words do Christians connect?
- What does the Bible say God is like?
- How can ideas of God be expressed in art?
- How do some Christians respond to a holy and loving God?
- How do churches and cathedrals reflect Christian ideas about God?
Music:
We now have a music teacher coming in each Friday to work with the class for an hour on music technique and how to play a brass instrument.
PSHCE:
We are now using My Happy Mind as our main PSHCE offering. Currently, we are working through a unit called ‘Meet your Brain’ where we are learning about how our brains’ chemistry works.
We will then move on to our ‘Celebrate’ unit aimed at boosting self-esteem.
Computing:
In computing this half term we are working on what networks are including local and wide networks while trying to establish the difference between the web and the internet.
Spanish:
In Spanish we are looking at the language surrounding ‘My World’, starting with family members and friends before looking at animals and farms and exploring language that the children could need when talking about their own life.
